Completion

As I get ready to take a quick trip back to the U.S., I'm delighted that I am 99% finished on my first painting. It is a scene with a Medieval Castle on the top of a cliff with a busy fishing commercial section below with a number of sailboats in front. I have much to learn about techniques and I have skills to develop. This was a complex first painting and I made it quite impressionistic. I'm relatively pleased. When I return, I'll add a few finishing touches, but as the they in Theology Class, the best paper is one that is done! My first painting is done.

In another feeling of completion, I have worked this year to bring about a more coordinated music program for the parish. We have moving toward having one Mass Setting, which makes the Mass feel like it was planned. Also, at our Sweifieh Church last night, a very generous woman was able to play piano/keyboard Communion music for prayer. As I sat down after Mass, I looked up and everyone was praying. I was so happy. It is a relief to know that the the music program is making great strides forward. I see a difference in the people's responses towards it.
